Dr. Carlisle Vason
Although Dr. Vason now couldn’t imagine NOT being a dentist, he actually majored in Finance and International Affairs originally! Once he realized that dentistry was the perfect balance of working with his hands and building genuine relationships with others, however, he quickly pivoted and pursued his dental degree at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. In addition to undergoing hours of training on everything from routine checkups to complete full-mouth rehabilitation, he was inducted into a national dental honor society (Omicron Kappa Upsilon), which is reserved for the top 12% of each graduating class.
Naturally, Dr. Vason’s studies didn’t end when he graduated. Ever since, he has pursued continuing education with prestigious institutions, like the Pankey Institute. Furthermore, he has completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency and maintained active memberships with the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and other professional organizations.
As for life outside the office, Dr. Vason loves spending time with his wife (who he met the very first week of college). Today, they have two children, Shepherd and Bailey, as well as an energetic Vizsla! He also has lots of hobbies, including practicing yoga and hiking!
Dr. Kristen Grisham
Dr. Grisham was inspired to pursue a career in dentistry because of her positive experience with braces! She ultimately chose to pursue her studies at Kennesaw State University, and she worked as a dental assistant prior to attending dental school. When it came time to earn her doctorate, she attended the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University.
Following graduation, Dr. Grisham’s commitment to continuing education began! In addition to completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency, she’s studied at the world-renowned Pankey Institute, maintained an active membership with the American Dental Association, earned her certification in Zoom! teeth whitening, and became an Invisalign/SureSmile provider (a few of her many accomplishments). On the weekends and evenings, you’ll most likely find Dr. Grisham with her husband, their two daughters, their two dogs, and their cat – it’s a full house! She also enjoys using her free time to watch movies, especially with her go-to snack: popcorn mixed with M&M’s.

Vason Family Dentistry is a wonderful practice filled with people who care and are extremely knowledgeable. My mother, sister, and I have all been patients here since the early 2010s. I had to switch to a new practice when I moved out of the city and I'm so happy to be able to return. All the employees are kind, transparent, and update to date on best practices. I highly recommend their services!

How Do I Find the Best Place to Get Dental Work Done?
When you’re looking for the right provider, it helps to first establish what matters to you. For example, you might ask yourself if you are looking for a dentist who accepts your insurance, has specific qualifications, or offers certain services.
It’s also important to get a feel for the practice to ensure it fits your needs best. You might peruse online reviews or read the staff biographies on the website to get a feel for the doctors’ values, how they treat patients, and what they prioritize. Many dentists also post photos and videos online so you can get a realistic glimpse into their practice.
What Is the Best Way to Find a Cosmetic Dentist?
Cosmetic dentistry isn’t a specialty recognized by the American Dental Association, so it’s important to find an appropriately qualified provider if you are interested in elective procedures intended to enhance your appearance. Many organizations offer advanced training in different cosmetic procedures, but it may be best to seek a dentist with a membership in a high-profile professional organization, like the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry or the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics. You can also find experts certified in specific treatments, like Zoom! teeth whitening, or licensed to provide clear aligners like Invisalign or SureSmile.
How Can I Find a Female Dentist?
If you have access to a computer or phone with an internet connection, the simplest way to find a certain type of provider is to look it up online. About 1/3 of all currently practicing dentists in the United States are women, so it’s not usually too difficult to locate a skilled practitioner that you’d feel comfortable with. You can start with a simple search like “female dentists near me,” and Google and other search engines can give you a list of helpful results. You can also browse the “Meet the Dentist” section of various offices to find one that you think might meet your needs.
What Is the Best Way to Find a Dentist Who Does Dental Implants?
Many experts consider dental implants the gold standard of replacement teeth because their placement in the jawbone offers unique advantages over alternatives like dentures or dental bridges. That said, they are the only restoration involving oral surgery, so finding a skilled dentist with the right experience is essential. Some providers can assist with the surgery and restoration, while others work with local experts for the placement itself.
Typically, a periodontist, prosthodontist, or oral surgeon can perform the implant procedure, so you might look for a provider with these qualifications. You can also search for a dentist who is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, or other high-profile professional organizations.
